CHARACTER NAME: Yoshitya Tetsuyo... Yoyo.

FANDOM: Jet Set Radio Future

AGE: 17

GRADE: Junior (held back)

HISTORY: Up until the age of 12, Yoyo's life was that of average boy; average family.  Middle class, both parents work.  They all got along rather well.  Y'know, normal family.  After school one day, he ran into (literally) a couple kids on rollerblades.  For a while, he watched them and was throughly impressed by their skill on inlines.  He followed them (as best you can follow when you're on foot) and found they had a place they hung out.  They were pretty tolerant to him, being younger than him and all, and pretty cool in his own right.  After he saved up and got himself a pair of skates, he was able to hang out with this group more, and they taught him how to skate, and a few moves, mostly letting Yoyo go by himself while they took off on their own activities.  Over time, Yoyo's presence among them became regular, and at 14 they handed him is first can of paint, thus inducting him into their 'gang' they called The GGs.

However, it was much earlier than that when Yoyo took up what would be his first girlfriend, art.  He was never very focused in school as he wanted to just sit and doodle in his textbooks instead.  The only classes passed consistently in middle school were those in art.  Teachers saw that he was rather gifted in drawing and painting, but, there was little they could do to get him studying otherwise.  Shortly after joining up with the GGs, Yoyo's medium moved from paper and canvass to walls.  Most of his art was constructive, but his school wasn't excempt from meaningless name-tagging.  Yoyo barely passed through middle school, mostly as it was cheaper to let him barely slide by than continously repaint and sandblast walls.

Yoyo was held back a year in highschool due to a combination of grades and attendance.   He's still notorious for cutting classes as well as getting busted for tagging, even if the content is promoting school pride or assisting with announcements; vandalism of school property is STILL vandalism (but, once in a while, it slides without a day or two of detention.)

Personality: Yoyo fancies himself a smooth talker with a silver tongue. In his own little world, he can spin words to make the ladies' hearts melt. He never reserves an opinion on a girl's positive looks, but is prone to fancy words in the wrong manner.  More than likely, he uses one of the two extremes of a description; quick and blunt, or so many elaborate adjectives that the meaning is lost and forgotten.

But as much as he loves the ladies, art is his first love. Any flat surface he can reach is an instant canvass for him to express himself. Oft, his murals might be gifts to a girl whose eye he tries to capture. His smaller, easier to place tags are mostly for marking territory for the GG's.  Yoyo keeps himself laid back and working on new tags and murals whenever he's not out skating, tagging, or stuck in class.

Yoyo enjoys attaching nicknames to other students he meets based on the manner they present themselves or a feature of their body; Pinky for someone with pink hair, or Books for a person who's often carrying or reading them.  While the names MAY be accurate, they're usually unwelcome when their name is clearly available or previously stated.

Strengths: Yoyo is most definitely street smart, and not just in the ways of protecting himself when in the 'ghettos' or caught up in the wrong crowd. Aside from the upper class side of town, and construction zones, Yoyo knows the city like the back of his hand. He's confident in himself and his art and almost doesn't know when to give up (Even when he SHOULD)

Weaknesses: Most of his grades get sub-par marks, though he surprisingly excels in classes relating to society and art. Though he rarely spouts off the occasional advanced vocabulary, Yoyo speaks simply, and often forgets names of more complicated things. Though he can be smart at times, he prefers to keep his mind on his own affairs and isn't always filled in; leaving people to look down on him as an idiot when he really isn't. 9 out of 10 nicknames he attaches to others are annoying.

Character Name; Yoyo

Series/Fandom; Jet Set Radio

Age; 17 (estimated)

Gender; Male

Species; Human

Sexuality; Girls only plz!

Appearance; Yoyo stands between 5'4" and 5'9" (weither or not he wears his skates when you check makes a difference!) He hides his athletic build over his baggy clothes; a teal hoodie with short sleeves accented with lime-green pinstripes, and orange blocklike designs. His black shorts have a silver border, with white pinstripes running in curves around the legs. You'll be hard pressed to see his short lime-green hair without his red shades. He keeps his orange one-strap bag across his back, filled with various colors of spray paint. The biggest deal are his yellow skates! Unlike your average inlines, they only possess two giant wheels in place of four. The skates are specially designed to adhere magnetically to any surface, but rail-like surfaces are the easiest to cling to, as the strongest magnetism is located between the two wheels.

Personality;Yoyo fancies himself a smooth talker with a silver tongue. In his own little world, he can spin words to make the ladies' hearts melt. He never reserves n opinion on a girl's positive looks, but is prone to using the wrong terms. More than likely, he uses one of the two extremes of a description; quick and blunt, or so many elaborate adjectives that the whole purpose is lost and forgotten.

But as much as he loves the ladies, art is his first love. Any flat surface (corners included) is an instant canvass for him to express himself. Oft, his murals might be gifts to a girl whose eye he tries to capture. His smaller, easier to place tags are mostly for marking territory for the GG's in their ongoing turf war with other Rudies and the Rokkaku police.

Yoyo keeps himself laid back and working on new tags and murals whenever he's not out skating or tagging. He joins ranks with the GG's to help bury Tokyo and the Rokkaku Group in graffiti. He's been personally accosted by the police for drawing on a sidewalk with chalk! He's not afraid to stand his ground against the cops but throwing punches is a different story; one he personally doesn't write. His far from pacifist, but he knows he's not likely to win a fist fight. His tagger style resembles a more abstract take on anime, with a focus on girls, blocky letters, and the color green.

Abilities/Strengths; Though new to the crew, he's been tagging for a few years. He proves himself as one of the fastest, clocking a 12'x6' 8 color mural in half an hour, and has clocked his personal logo at 1:22! Yoyo's got a natural sense of direction. He's never likely to get lost, even in a new area. If he doesn't already know the fastest way through an area, he'll find it or make it. In regards to his skating, he's not the fastest in the crew, his forte lies in aerials. Yoyo's able to get ridiculous amounts of air off a small start and exceeds the rest of the team in wallrides and jump distance.

Yoyo's devout to his crew. Anything he can do to keep them out of trouble, or get the one-up on a rival group, he's on it. He's always up for being the to-to guy, because he's confident he can get the job done.

Weaknesses; Yoyo's not the brightest bulb in the pack. He likes ot make quick conclusions without considering the how-to or the consequences. Often he'll accept doing something before even knowing entirely what it was he was supposed to do.

He lets looking at a pretty face distract him longer than he means for it too. He's also not deicreet about what he says, speaking his mind before he can catch what he says.

On skates, Yoyo's only fast enough to get away from yoru everyday slob member of the Rokkaku police. He's far from slow, but he's not the fastest; likely to get caught if chased on a straightaway. He lacks any sort of real muscular definition, and bruises pretty easily. Yoyo can't really throw a punch properly to save his life, resorting to can-bashing before he breaks his own knuckles on someone's jaw.

Notable Possessions; Paint in a variety of colors, his skates (Let's call them AT's for now, since I like to associate them with the same mechanics and creation as ATs from Air Gear)

History; "Tokyo is bein' oppressed by the Rokkaku Group, a mega-enterprise headed by Rokkaku Gouji. Rokkaku is using his money and influence to mess with every-thing: industry, society, and even our culture. And he's even got his eyes set on city hall.

Lately, Rokkaku's been shaking down the government passin' that "Rokkaku Law" crap, and even buying off the police department. This law ain't nothin'but garbage. It's just some selfish little punk's way of trying to show he's a big man. Rokkaku and his gang are tryin' to stomp out our culture left and right. They don't give a rip about our rights; all they care about is profit.

And some spineless fools have already become flunkies in their diabolical scheme. You'd better believe they're listening in on this broadcast. But even in all this heat, there's a group of young kids who've been tearin' up the streets - I'm talking about the Rudies. These kids have set out to bury Tokyo in graffiti. And now they're all wrapped up in their own little territorial tug-of-wars." -DJ Professor K, Jet Set Radio Broadcast

Yoyo's the newest hotshot to join the Rudie group called the GG's (and the game's main character). After Prof. K's broadcast, word gets around that some nasty smelling graff's been thrown up on Dogenzaka Hill and Shibuya Terminal. While 'cleaning up' (by that I mean COVERING IN HIS OWN TAGS) Dogenzaka, he comes across former GG founder Beat, and manages to get him back in the crew. After clean up of Shibuya Terminal, the perpetrators come out into the light, but split as big man on the street, Combo, accuses Yoyo of the nasty smelling tags. Proving his worth, and busting Poison Jam in the act Combo joins the crew. But the police aren't going to let the pair head back to the Garage without taking them in first. Greatly to their dismay, the Duo prove too much for the cops, and send them packing with a fresh coat on their yellow backs.

Word comes in that PJ covered Chou Street in a poisoned paint, and people are laughing themselves to death. Solution: paint over it! But the Rokkaku Police arrive, IN TANKS NO LESS to take care of whoever it is they catch in the act; poor lil' Yoyo. Exploiting their unusual weakness to paint, Yoyo effectively handles the three tanks and the poison paint. PJ rears their ugly heads again, and after a shamefull defeat run to lick their wounds. Yoyo and fellow GG's persue them as far at Rokkaku-dai Heights before losing track of them in a conflict with the police.

JSR's DJ lets the crew in that the crew on 99th Street, Rapid 99, knows where PJ makes their hideout, but their turf has also been turned purple, blue and nasty. A new paint job, and a victorious game of Capture the Flag with Rapid 99 gets them the info they need; PJ's hideout is located deep within the sewer system. With a heavy sigh, and noseplugs, they head forth, only to be led into a trap. Dropped far into a dead sewerline below, a laugh comes from above. Resident tagger, and fellow hater of Poison Jam, Garam offers his aid, should Yoyo prove his worth on the halfpipe. Being a Rudie isn't all about pretty colors and resisting opression. (Actually, it is, but Garam's been chillin in the sewer for a while...)

With his help, the two split up to set off all the switches that will unlock the giant floodgates leading down to the depths of the sewage facility, and PJ's hideout. Simple-mindedly, members of Poison Jam challenge them to a race, which leads them straight to their leader, Cube, also former GG. Cube pits the boys against her own in a game of Tagger's Tag, which the newly formed Duo easily handle. Cube relents, having her fish-faced relenquish their territory as well as the Goddess of the Streets, a statue they stole that belongs in Dogenzaka.

For a while, there's 'peace', at least as much peace as you can call not having to breath in the fumes of sewer-based paint. But on his own time, Yoyo hears a rumor about the police's cheif's special anti-Rudie forces, the Golden Rhinos. While investigating, Yoyo gets busted and thrown in a cage. On a bizarre stroke of brilliance, Rokkaku Gouji, 'mayor', disguises one of his Noise Tanks (another anti-Rudie force, made to look act like a rival crew with some serious obsession with robots) and sends them to attack the GG's whenever they get the chance.

NT3000, the custom Noise Tank Yoyo, poses as a captured Yoyo at Highway Zero. After hunting down the Noise Tanks who have been taking out one crew after another, most notable the Immortals (freaks obsessed with the Egyptian way), they take a shot at trying to beat some info out of the bandaged punks. Unfortunately, it's all a trap, and a few GG members are caught, and forced to play a game of Rollerball against a few other captured teams, the Love Shockers, Immortals, and Doom Riders. After a successful escape, the GG's chase after the Noise Tanks again, who've gone beserk and are terrorizing all parts of Tokyo.

It takes more than paint to take them down, but finally (and to some serious surprise), Poison Jam lets a little info slip from behind their fishface masks; Yoyo's been working with the NTs, tearing up Sky Dinosaurian Park. After a beating from 'Yoyo' and the NTs, Cube comes to their rescue, revealing this Yoyo to be a fake. With resolve renewed, the GG's make their mark on the Tanks and send them packing.

A crewless Rudie, named Clutch pops up in the GG's garage, with some useful info. He knows where the Golden Rhinos have taken Yoyo, but he won't fess up where without running off with some of the crew's art. After getting it back, and gaining Clutch's help, they head off for the deepest parts of Rokkaku-dai, the Foritfied Residential Zone. After a hard climb up misshapen skyscrapers, pipes, tubes, and beams that come and go into nowhere structurally sound; they rescue their friend, and make a quick escape before the choppers come in.

Irritated, the Golden Rhinos send out their special forces; which end up not being all that special, and quickly sent with their tail between their legs. However, a new weapon of the Rokkaku police reared it's ugly head, and it looked frighteningly like the GG's founder Beat. This alien-like freak leads Yoyo and crew off to the future site of the Rokkaku Expo, where one giant of an anti-Rudie machine lays in wait. Chasing it down and disabling it before it causes too much damage, the GG's make their way back home, only to have the place trashed by more than one of these Beat-clone machines.

Irritated and tired, Yoyo and the GG's take care of the machines just as Rokkaku Gouji, 'mayor' of Tokyo and serious nutcase, arrives with his latest device in artistic oppression. He sucks the crew into a sort of pocket dimension, as well as half of Shibuya terminal and himself. Mutated by the machine's wicked ways, and the space distorted like something out of the mind of Escher, the GG's make one last stand against Gouji's oppression.
